Scott is an older gay man who had been married before to a woman and then had a child. The divorce and being raised in a cult had strained his relationship with his son. Scott’s father had not spoken to him for over 11 years up until the time he died. Scott feared this would be the same outcome for his son and himself. Then his son gets married and has a daughter, but his wife is controlling and interferes in their father-and-son relationship until Scott has no further contact with his son or granddaughter. Then Scott suffers a major heart attack and is dying. All the things Scott went through watching his father die from the same thing, now his son will have to experience it. It’s a heart-wrenching story as son and ex-wife pour their hearts out over Scott’s deathbed. For all parents and children who have a strained relationship, this book is for you. Without spoiling the ending, I can only say that it has a surprising, unexpected one. There is, however, some foul language but truly little. This story is narrated by Trevor, a drag Queen from Chicago and Scott’s best friend. I wrote this as fiction, but eighty percent is nonfiction. Warning: Everyone who has read it has cried.
